Two Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
