Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Fighters Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of characters who will branch out from the main group to begin their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.

This warrior group includes the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).

The Reason for Division

With a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be impossible.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.

Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look mismatched, but the events of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the group understands precisely where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.

The antagonist then cleared his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each member has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a nasty location.
  • The warrior and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group enter areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The cleric defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This results in them few options but to head to the remote area in search of Casimir.

What’s Next?

From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to form the Explorers and Schemers groups.

Fans can look forward to discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
